Vignettes to make Life Better and More Prosperous

Bottled water recently made the news about being terrible and a rip off with its cost. As with everything we experience in life, there are no absolutes and untruth statements reported from so called 'experts.'

There are certainly problems with bottled water and much of it is deceiving the public, particularly when a corporation takes city water, runs it through some charcoal, and then declares it safe and healthy. This is clearly unethical and dishonest. Not every bottled water company is dishonest but 'buyer beware' and check each company.

I will give you some tips as we go through this ezine on water in general.

The article that I recently read was very clearly opposed to bottled water but very favorable to community water. It is my opinion that everyone needs to know most city water is not healthy and our government does not want us to discover how bad the public water supply has become.

The following are quotes from the website of www.hightechhealth.com. This company consists of good people and maintains high standards. I purchased one of their water filtration systems 3 years ago and it has been a great investment.

'A USA Today article indicates that the average city water contains more than 500 chemicals.'

'According to the EPA, our bodies accumulate 210 mcg of just plasticizers (phthalates) everyday.

'Air pollution and water pollution are only a small part of the toxicity story. There are thousands of harmful environmental toxins, some of which we're aware of -- such as pesticides, chemicals, household cleansers, fertilizers -- and others, which seem perfectly innocent, such as those ubiquitous plastic water bottles, styrene cups, dental fillings, and plastic wrap. These are just a few small examples of the alarming amount of harmful toxins our bodies are absorbing every day.'

There are three things in our water today the government doesn't want discussed because there is absolutely no way to remove them from our water.

Hormones - these are so common and are pervasive in all community water systems. Animals that are fed in confinement industrial settings are fed hormones and these in turn are consumed by people. The excess is excreted into our city sewage systems. The second major source of hormones in our water supply is prescription hormone drugs for women, taken for menopause, or other ailments. The excess is also excreted into the sewage systems of all cities. THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE THESE DRUGS FROM OUR WATER SUPPLY except through personal filtration systems such as the one High Tech Health manufactures.

Antibiotics - these are also common in all water supplies. Antibiotics come from animals fed in confinement industrial feed lots and chicken-pork buildings. The animals become infectious because of this 'close' confinement. Disease becomes common place, due to the over-crowding conditions. Also, people are prescribed antibiotics at the drop of a hat. It is estimated that 80 % of the antibiotics prescribed by doctors is useless and only done to make the patient think they have done something for their colds. These antibiotics are again excreted into the sewer system and there is no way to remove them, except with filtration systems manufactured by High Tech Health.

Micronized toilet paper - when toilet paper is used in a bath room it is launched into the sewer system. The toilet paper continues breaking down into smaller particles as it travels into the sewage system. Community sewage system's have no way to filter this product out of the water. Again, the only way to get rid of this problem is with a filtration system as mentioned earlier in this article.

Another common product in community water systems are heavy metals like cadmium. This metal cannot be removed by filtration. The only way to remove these toxins for most people is by detoxification with trace minerals. There are no trace minerals in the food we eat from grocery stores, and very few from organic foods, but if we supplement with absorbable trace minerals, our bodies will respond by kicking these toxic metals out of our bodies. Check out my web site (drbobthehealthbuilder.com) for more information and purchasing of 'Dr. Bob's Total Ocean Nutrition Trace Mineral Supplement' & other healthy products.

All this being said regarding water comes full circle back to the question 'bottled water - is it safe?' The answer is NO unless you read the labels.

City water is not safe unless you buy your own personnel filtration system.

Bottled water can be safe if it has come from underground springs which are not associated with our rivers or lakes and if the water is treated with reverse osmosis, UV light source, and electrolysis. Such sources are very good, but unfortunately if the water is placed in plastic bottles, the water then becomes contaminated with plasticizers from the container itself.

So what is the best solution to healthy water in this day and age?

Decide which is better - contaminated public water supply or spring water in a plastic bottles.

I don't like either of these solutions. I recommend you find Mountain Valley Spring water from Arkansas. This water is 'alive' and comes from natural springs from deep below the earth's surface. Unfortunately, they use the plastic bottling method--but unlike most companies, they also offer a glass bottles which are inert and will not out gas plasticizers (these cause cancer and imitate hormones).

Another solution that I use every day is to take my green (color is green) glass bottle from Mountain Valley Spring water and fill it with water from my www.hightechhealth.com filtration system - I then have healthy water in a glass bottle (we also use glass glasses in our house with the filtration system.

To your good health from Dr Bob
