Some
Carbs Become Fat Almost Immediately
People on low-carb diets lose weight
in part because they get less fructose, a type of sugar that can be made into
body fat quickly, according to a researcher at UT Southwestern Medical
Center in Dallas and reported on NBC Channel
5 TV.
The lead author of the
study, Dr. Elizabeth Parks, said it shows that the type of carbs someone eats
can be as important as the amount.
"Our
study shows for the first time the surprising speed with which humans make body
fat from fructose," Parks said. Fructose, glucose and sucrose, which are a
mixture of fructose and glucose, are all forms of sugar but are metabolized
differently.
Though fructose is
naturally found in high levels in fruit, it is also added to many processed
foods, especially in the form of high-fructose corn syrup, which is found in
many processed foods, including those that would not be thought of as sweets.
For the study, six
healthy people performed three different tests involving drinking various mixes
of glucose and fructose. Researchers found that fructose turned into body fat
much more quickly, and that having it for breakfast changed how the body
handled fats at lunch.
"The carbohydrates came into the body as
sugars, the liver took the molecules apart like tinker toys, and put them back
together to build fats. All this happened within four hours after the fructose
drink. As a result, when the next meal was eaten, the lunch fat was more likely
to be stored than burned," Parks said.
Parks
said that people trying to lose weight shouldn't eliminate fruit from their
diets but that limiting processed foods containing the sugar may help.
The above information is true as far as it goes but
Dr Parks was trying to be politically correct - which I am never politically
correct because my job does not hang in the balance if I print something that
conflicts with industrial food manufacturers, drug corporations, medicine, or
chemical companies' money-making schemes at our health expense.
A few months ago, I was at a meeting with the US
Surgeon General; one of his comments was that obesity started really going up
in 1980 and he was correct. Unfortunately, he stopped at that point.
The truth is that the US government put tariffs on
sugar importation to protect the US sugar cane growers and raise the price to
very high levels. Large industrial food and beverage corporations were forced
to incorporate high fructose corn syrup, which is not close to natural, into
their "food products".
This is where Dr. Parks work comes into today's
newsletter and pod cast.
As a side note, we import all kinds of "stuff" from
communist China but nothing from communist Cuba. We are destroying farm land
and the environment (particularly water reserves where ethanol is being made)
to grow corn for fuel and reducing the available food to people in the US and
around the world. I know this is political, but if we just have to have ethanol
for fuel, why do we not just import cheap sugar cane from Cuba and other sugar
cane growing countries to make cheap ethanol (could be done in Florida where
there is ample water if you consider desalinization of ocean water that will
not hurt the environment) and use the GMO corn in third world countries so that
US citizens will not be poisoned from GMO crops. (Hey, I am just a reporter
with an imagination.)
We have known for years that carbohydrates,
particularly high fructose corn syrup, cause triglycerides and contribute to
high cholestrol levels. Dr. Parks work just confirms these facts.
The food manufacturers have manipulated the
government into creating a food pyramid that pushes carbohydrates and HFCS
(instead of sugar) that cause high cholestrol and high triglycerides. In turn, drug companies and MDs can make
obscene amounts of money prescribing statin drugs for heart disease that don't
work and actually cause heart-related deaths and liver degeneration deaths.
Ain't America wonderful! I am kidding, because the
USA is wonderful when it comes to the people, but terrible when it comes to our
government - a government that has sold out to corporations to get re-elected
and corporations that make decisions on how to pad their coffers and the CEOs'
retirement program over the dead bodies of USA citizens.
Diabetes cure is not brain surgery. One hundred
years ago there was no type II diabetes, but people only ate 6 pounds of sugar
per year and no HFCS.
Today, the average person eats 175 pounds per year of
mostly HFCS and a little sugar. We have all had basic math and 2 + 2 =4.
Diabetes is just as simple. STOP EATING HFCS AND SUGAR and diabetes will
disappear. To accomplish this we need industrial food corporations to stop
advertizing in the media. We need to stop corporations like Weight Watchers,
Jenny Craig, and similar companies from advertisements that say you can eat
anything you like as long as they make the product. To lose weight or get rid
of diabetes, you have to stop eating all the unhealthy things in their foods
and the other foods in grocery stores.
The products are loaded with chemicals that have
never been tested on people to see if they are safe, and they are not safe -
over 13,000 chemicals are used by industrial food manufacturers. You can't eat
pastas that are extruded because they are empty carbs with no nutrition. The
little bit that looks like vegetables comes from chemical farms that give you
herbicides, pesticides and no trace minerals. There may be aspartame (Equal) that
causes you to eat more carbs (making diabetics worse), or surcalose (Splenda) that
is a toxic chlorinated hydrocarbon (similar to DDT) that can kill you.
Many people say that the above chemicals are not bad
and your body can get rid of them. Let me introduce you to a new term that
everyone needs to know.
BIO-ACCUMULATION
Over many years the chemicals keep increasing
(newborns are being born with all these chemicals because the chemicals travel
from the mothers body through the womb and into the infants before they are
born) and our bodies become more toxic. Many of the chemicals are put into
foods to addict people so they will continue to eat all the unhealthy foods
containing HFCs, sugar, etc.
Also remember that sugar and carbs are more
addictive than cocaine and heroin.
What
is the solution?
Go back to what your grandmother or great-grandmother
made for their children in the 1920's and 1930's. They had fresh
non-pasteurized, non-homogenized grass fed no grain milk without GMO hormones.
There were pastured poultry and eggs, grass fed no grain non-chemical beef,
pork had no antibiotics or hormones, vegetables had no toxic fertilizers,
pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. The grains were local without chemicals
and they were ground locally and sold fresh, and the nutrients were not striped
of the products before they were sold.
USDA
and chemical agriculture corporations say we can't go back to local foods and
small farms.
This is a lie. The only thing that will happen if we
go back to local food for local people is that multinational agricultural
chemical corporations and industrial food manufacturers will lose money. The
thought of them going broke warms my heart.
Remember, local food for local people in season is
possible if you want to live a healthy life without diabetes, heart attacks and
cancer. You may have to start with baby steps and the first step is read labels
to avoid HFCS, sugar and names you cannot pronounce or spell.
